FAIRBANKS - 74 men and 74 women were selected to participate in the 2024 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Skiing Championships March 6-9. Three men and three women from the Nanooks Nordic ski team were among the 74 in each.

The six total gives the Nanooks their third-straight season of sending a full team to the NCAA Championships. This season's championships will be hosted by the University of Colorado, Boulder and held in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Nordic participants are selected on a regional basis from three designated regions (Central, East and West). Bids are awarded to regions using a formula determined by the skiing committee. Nordic events will run on Thursday, March 7 and Saturday, March 9 at Howelsen Hill.

"For the third straight year, and fourth in five years, we are sending a full team to NCAAs!" Said Ben Buck, assistant coach for the Nanooks ski team, "After having the same six athletes representing us at the last two Championships, it's great to be welcoming a new face, freshman Ben Dohlby, into the mix. He has been a standout performer this season, and is the youngest racer to qualify to NCAA's from the RMISA this season! The rest of the NCAA squad consists of some seasoned veterans who already have several All-American titles to their names. The three seniors and two juniors will be looking for some strong individual performances to help our team maintain its position as one of the top nordic ski teams in the nation!"
