FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks swimming team is back in action this weekend as they welcome fellow PCSC team Fresno Pacific to the Patty Center Pool for a pair of dual meets.

The Nanooks started their season by hosting San Diego State for two dual meets in October. Alaska fell in both meets, dropping the first 75-125 and the second 78-121. The relay team of Charlotte Fletcher-Stables, Dorka Dancsok, Cosima Schmiedel and Samantha Bristor took second in the 400-yard medley relay with a 1:49.28, while Fletcher-Stables, Dancsok, Schmiedel and Janci Pangburn took second in the 200-yard medley relay the following day with a 3:59.53. Pangburn took second in the 50-yard freestyle in the first meet (24.78) and followed that by finishing second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.14) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.39) on the second day.

- This is Alaska's first dual meet against Fresno Pacific since January 4, 2014. In that meet, the Nanooks fell to the Sunbirds 119-155.
- FPU has swam three times this season, opening up with a meet against the Pacific Tigers and the Cal State East Bay Pioneers. The meet was highlighted by a second-place finish by Hermione Roe in the 100-yard breaststroke and a fourth-place result for Charlotte Wilbers in the 200-yard freestyle.
- They continued their season in the Slug Shootout, hosted by UC Santa Cruz. The Sunbirds finished fourth in the women's meet, earning 456 points over the two days of competition.
- After the first week, the Nanooks ranked first in the PCSC in the 400-yard medley relay with a 3:39.53. They ranked third in the 200-yard medley with a time of 1:49.28.
- Fletcher-Stables was named PCSC Female Swimmer of the Week after Alaska's dual meets against SDSU, marking the first PCSC weekly award of her career. She impressed at Alaska's first dual meets of the season, competing in eight events over the two days for the Nanooks. Her times of 59.18 and 2:11.73 in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke placed her fourth and sixth in the PCSC rankings, respectively.

The Nanooks return to action later this month when they compete in the three-day Logger Invitational in Tacoma, Wash., on November 22-24.
