ANCHORAGE - The Alaska Nanooks cross country team is headed to Anchorage for the Seawolf Throwdown on Saturday, Sept. 3 in Kincaid Park. The Nanooks and Seawolves met a week ago in Fairbanks as the women's team took the win while the men's team fell to UAA.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks women's team took the win over the Seawolves on the UAF Trails a week ago, 27-30, as they were led by Kendall Kramer and Rosie Fordham, who took one-two for the second-consecutive season. Kramer took first with a time of 18:28 while Fordham followed with a time of 18:39. Delainey Zock took fifth for the 'Nooks, finishing in a time of 20:29, finishing the Nanooks' top-three finishers.Â
On the men's side, Alaska was led by Koen Ross, who placed third-overall with a time of 28:42. Josh Baurick and Ryan Owens raced their first races in the blue and gold, finishing the top-three for the men's team. They fell to UAA 32-23.Â

- The Nanooks are looking for their first ever back-to-back season-sweep of UAA on the women's side after defeating UAA for the first time in program history last season.Â
- Kendall Kramer won the GNAC XC Women's Athlete of the Week this week thanks to her win in the Blue/Gold Meet. This was her second GNAC Weekly award and second time she won it following the Blue/Gold Meet.Â
The Nanooks will then be off for over a month until their next race at Montana State Billings on Oct. 7.Â
