FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks athletic training department and Director of Athletics,
Dr. Brock Anundson have announced the addition of
Palmer Trolli as the next Assistant Athletic Trainer. He will join Head Athletic Trainer
Dave Boyd and Assistant
Kei Flechsing.
"Palmer is a great addition to UAF Athletics." said Anundson, "His dynamic athletic training experience will provide an added edge for Head Athletic Trainer Boyd's team and our Nanooks student-athletes. We're excited to bring him aboard, as he'll hit the ground running as we start the new year."
Trolli joined the Nanooks at semester break after spending the past 11 months as the Assistant Athletic Trainer of Florida Southern College. He was assigned to the men's lacrosse, women's track & field and cross country, men and women's golf, cheerleading and club hockey team. He assisted other trainers in rehab and event coverage. Prior to his time at Florida Southern, Trolli was the Assistant Trainer at Warner University from Nov. 2018 through Dec. 2020. While at Warner U, Trolli worked specifically with men's soccer, softball, men and women's basketball and the cross county and track & field teams.
Trolli spent four years as their Head Athletic Trainer at Dock Mennonite Academy in Landsdale, Penn. from August 2014 through November 2018. There he managed care and prevention of injuries for 19 different sports. He worked closely with physical therapists in the surrounding area to keep athletes participating at the highest competition. While also serving as the Head Trainer at Dock Mennonite Academy, Trolli also spent three years as an Athletic Director Administrative Assistant, assisting in day-to-day operations, scheduling, registration and website maintenance.
He completed internships at ESPN in Orlando, Fla. as well as with the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL. For ESPN, Trolli provided on-field supervision and acute care for numerous National Championship events. For the Flyers he provided care during practices and games while also prescribing and monitoring preventative and rehab exercises.
Palmer Trolli graduated from Neumann University in May 2014 with a B.S. in Athletic Training with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. He then earned a Masters of Science in Sports Management from California University (PA.) in May 2018.
