Last Time Out (1/15/22 vs. Incarnate Word)
The Alaska Nanooks swim team battled Incarnate Word one final time on Saturday, Jan. 15. The Nanooks posted some strong times but ultimately fell to the Cardinals 123-78.Â

Day two was another 11-event day for Alaska and UIW. In the first event, they raced in the 200-yard medley relay. The Nanooks top-team ofÂ

Emma Corby swam to a 1:56.84 finals time and third-place finish.Â

Kylee Carter followed up with a first and second place finish in the 1000-yard free. Aho raced to a time of 11:50.58 and Carter posted a time of 12:32.55.Â

Lainey Lioi grabbed a second-place finish in the third event, the 200-yard free. She posted a finals time of 2:06.26. In the fourth event, Pashak returned to the top-three, taking third in the 50-yard free with a time of 26.46, falling behind the winner by just under a second and a half.Â
Emma Corby was the high-finisher for Alaska in the 400-yard IM, racing to a second-place finish. She posted a time of 4:47.11.Â

At the midway point of day two,Â
Sophia Ruppert got the Nanooks back in the win column with a 2:13.86 in the 200-yard butterfly. She won by just under four seconds.Â
Gabrielle Davy took third as well. In the 100-yard free, Lioi took third, posting a time of 57.60.Â
Shannon McCallum took fourth in the eighth-event, the 200-yard backstroke, racing to a time of 2:24.84. In the final three events, Corby and McCormick took the top-finishing spots in the individual races. Corby raced to a second-place finish in the 500-yard free, racing to a time of 5:26.98 while McCormick took third in the 200-yard breaststroke using a time of 2:40.62.

The final event of the morning was the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Nanooks took second as a team of Corby, Pashak, W. McArthur and Lioi posted a time of 1:41.86, one and a half seconds behind the winner from UIW.Â
Quick Hitters
- The Nanooks will welcome Loyla Marymount to town for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
- The Nanooks took the first of the two, winning on Jan. 25, 2019 108-97 before falling to 110-94 in the second night on Jan. 26, 2019.
- That win on Jan. 25 is the lone head-to-head win against LMU.Â
Looking Ahead
Following this weekend, the Nanooks regular-season will come to an end and they'll head to PCSC Championships on Feb. 16-19 in St. George, Utah.Â
