Alaska Welcomes Jim Hall as Senior Associate AD for Compliance

FAIRBANKS – Director of Athletics, Brock Anundson and the Alaska Nanooks athletic department have announced Jim Hall as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. Hall's first day was August 1, 2021.

Hall joined the Nanooks at the beginning of this academic year and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Nanooks staff, "We're thrilled to have Jim as our Sr. Assoc. AD for Compliance, as he brings a wealth of knowledge to the athletics team. His experience with NCAA compliance and operations has been and will continue to be a tremendous asset for UAF athletics." Said Anundson.

Hall graduated from Grinnell College with a B.A. in History before earning his M.S. Ed. in Health and Physical Education. Hall immediately jumped into coaching, spending time at Northwest Missouri State as a Graduate Assistant before moving to Tennessee Temple University as an Assistant Professor, Athletic Facilities Coordinator as well as an Assistant Coach for men's basketball and baseball. He doubled as the head JV basketball coach. Following Tennessee Temple, Hall was named the head women's basketball coach at Simpson University where he led them to the 2001-02 NCCAA II National Championship title. He had previously placed fourth and fifth in 2000-01 and 1999-00, respectively.

He then led the University of Minnesota-Morris women's basketball team for three seasons, producing back-to-back double-digit win seasons after they'd dropped 56 consecutive games prior to his hiring. After coaching Fresno Pacific University for two seasons, Hall began his run as a Director of Athletics. He spent time at the University of Providence, Spring Hill College and Carroll University before joining the Nanooks.
