FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks swim team will hit the road for the first time this season. They'll travel to Santa Barbara, Calif. for a matchup with Westmont College.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2014-15 season. In that start of the season, the Nanooks tacked on back-to-back wins against Azusa Pacific to start the season at home. This season, the Nanooks welcomed the University of Nebraska Kearney and defeated them 142-63 on day one and 142-61 on day two. On each of the days, the Nanooks successfully took first in over 10 events, using that dominance to propel them to the strong start. 
 
Familiar Foe
The Nanooks and Westmont battled head-to-head for the first-time last season, during the 2020-21 COVID condensed year. On March 26-27, the Nanooks won both of the dual meets. They took the opener, 128-71 and followed up with a 106.50-79.50 victory. These dual meet victories gave the Nanooks their first win in over a season and a half, dating back to Jan. 25, 2019 when they defeated Loyola Marymount, 108-97.
