FAIRBANKS – In cooperation with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Alumni Association, the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics will be hosting a virtual Motivation Monday to kick off the annual Nanook Rendezvous on Monday, July 13 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. AKT. The free event will be hosted on the 
UAF Facebook page in the link posted above, with no pre-registration required.
Be sure to wear your workout clothes! Motivation Monday will feature a warm-up, a workout and a cool down taught by Alaska Nanooks coaches and student-athletes. Alaska Nanooks hockey head coach 
Erik Largen and incoming senior forward 
Justin Young will lead the warm up, followed by a workout taught by men's and women's Nordic ski head coach Eliska Albrigsten, concluding with a cool down with women's basketball head coach 
Kerri Nakamoto and incoming sophomore 
Olivia Kraska.
The event will be hosted by Alaska Nanooks Community Engagement Coordinator, 
Lisa Laiti and Associate Athletic Director for Corporate Partnerships, 
Nona Letuligasenoa.
If participants don't feel ready to get a sweat on, there will be plenty of items to catch up on with the coaches and student-athletes, including what their summer has been like so far and how they stay motivated for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic season.
Again, the event is free and no pre-registration is required and will take place live on 
UAF's official Facebook page. The event will also be shared on all Alaska Nanooks team's Facebook pages.
The 2020 Nanook Rendezvous is an annual UAF Alumni Association event that takes place usually around Golden Days. Due to COVID-19, the Alumni Association has chosen to still hold the Rendezvous but it will take place online. The full 2020 Nanook Rendezvous schedule is below:

		- Get your whole family involved! Take part in a Nanook-themed Scavenger Hunt to find the #BlueAndGold in your surroundings. Take photos! Share them on social media.
		
			- Something Blue and Gold that reminds you of UAF
 
			- A Nanook or another Arctic Animal
 
			- Your favorite UAF gear from the UAF Bookstore
 
		
		 
		- Use the hashtag #BlueAndGold to be entered for prizes! Sponsored by the UAF Alumni Association

Wednesday, July 15
	- Garden Walk Wednesday | 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. AKT | Free
	
		- Join us LIVE on the UAF Facebook page to see what's growing in our garden. Elizabeth Talbot, UAF alumni coordinator, will host this exploration of the Georgeson Botanical Gardens, including a tour led by garden manager Katie DiCristina. You can join the conversation and send in your questions about the history or UAF's unique horticultural facility.

Thursday, July 16
	- Thankful Thursday | All Day | Free
	
		- Join us in our first Nanook Nation Day of Giving. Do something nice for a neighbor: pick up trash, make a donation, volunteer for a good cause. Share a photo of your good deed.

Friday, July 17
	- Fairbanks Friday | All Day | Free
	
		- Visit local businesses – following state and CDC guidelines, of course – who are proud supporters of #NanookNation. Pick up a sticker. Order a Nanook Nation-themed drink or meal.
 
		- Thank you to these awesome alumni-owned or operated local businesses:
		
			- The Roaming Root – Owned and operated by UAF alum Erica Moeler '19. Erica graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She is a proud supporter of UAF and will be offering UAF stickers and pins to share with her customers at her scheduled location in front of Toy Quest on College Avenue.
 
			- Ursa Major Distilling – Owned and operated by UAF alum Rob Borland '99, '01. Rob earned his Associates of Applied Science Degree in Fire Safety in 1999 and his Bachelor of Technology in 2001. He is a friend and supporter of UAF and will be offering special Nanook-themed menu items along with free UAF stuff.
 
			- Café de Stir It Up – Owned and operated by Michaella Perez '15, a proud supporter of #NanookNation. Pick up your UAF stuff at both the Stir It Up coffee hut and Café de Stir It Up, an eatery specializing for people of diverse dietary lifestyles.
 
			- The Library Bar & Bites – Locally owned and operated by Luther Brice and Togi Letuligasenoa since November 2019. This business employs many UAF alumni and is a large supporter of Nanook Nation. Puck up some stickers and order a special Nanook-themed menu item.
 
			- HooDoo Brewery – Locally owned and operated by Bobby Wilken since 2012. Bobby is a friend and supporter of UAF who is offering UAF stickers and pins.

Saturday, July 18
	- Golden Days Parade | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Free
	
		- It's tradition to schedule the alumni reunion during Golden Days so we can participate in the Golden Days Grande Parade. Things are very different this year, but we still want to celebrate our community as the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce puts on a reverse parade. Instead of lining the streets of the parade route, fans can cruise safely through the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds and greet floats as you pass.
