ANCHORAGE, Alaska –
The Alaska Nanooks men's and women's Nordic ski teams competed in the final day of the 2019 University of Alaska Anchorage Invitational on Monday morning, racing in the classic sprint races at Kincaid Park. 

The Nanooks close-out the UAA Invite ranking sixth in the Nordic team standings with 195 points with the Alaska men sitting in seventh place with 81 points and the women ranking fourth with 114 points.

Senior Kati Roivas was the highest-finishing Alaska skier for the second-straight day, placing fourth overall for 31 points. Utah's Julia Richter ended up being the overall winner of the day, outskiing the 33 other competitors in the women's classic freestyle.

Sophomore Anja Maijala ranked second among her teammates, 27th overall for 12 points, while freshman Catherine Reed-Metayer rounded-out Alaska's top-three women, ranking 29th overall for 10 points.

In the men's classic sprint heats, redshirt-freshman Logan Mowry was the fastest Alaska skier on the day, placing 26th overall for 12 points. UAA's Sigurd Roenning placed first overall for 40 points.

Redshirt-senior Seiji Takagi placed second among his teammates, 27th overall for 11 points, while fellow senior Max Donaldson closed-out Alaska's top-three men with a 30th place finish for 10 points.

The Alaska Nanooks men's and women's Nordic ski teams will remain in Anchorage to compete in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Conference and West Regional Championships this Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Friday, Feb. 22. Alaska will compete in the 10/5km freestyle race on Wednesday before taking part in the 20/15km classic race on Friday. Both Wednesday and Friday's conference championships will take place at Governor's Peak Recreation Area in Palmer, Alaska.
