FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks swim team returns to the Patty Center Pool for the final time this season, as they host fellow Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference (PCSC) member Loyola Marymount in a dual meet this Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26.

Where to Watch & Listen
If fans aren't able to make Friday's meet vs. Loyola in Fairbanks, Friday's  meet will be streamed live through the Alaska Nanooks Stretch Internet Portal in the link posted above. There will be no audio commentary but fans will be able to hear the pool announcer. Please note the live stream will be for Friday only, as it conflicts with women's basketball on Saturday.

Last Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks kicked-off the New Year by competing in the LMU Lion's Cup, hosted by Loyola Marymount, Jan. 11-12 at the LMU Aquatic Center in Los Angeles. The Nanooks placed third as a team, behind two NCAA Division I schools, with multiple first-place finishes individually.

Senior Day
Since Saturday's meet will be Alaska's last home-pool advantage for the remainder of the 2018-19 season, Alaska will honor their three seniors following the conclusion of the meet. Following the conclusion of the season, Alaska will bid farewell to Cassidy Heaton, Cassidy Kelly and Sierra Kinworthy.

Lemley's Last Go
Not to be overshadowed, Saturday will also serve as the last home meet for longtime Alaska Nanooks swimming head coach Scott Lemley, who plans to retire at the conclusion of his contact in June. Lemley was a Alaska Nanooks student-athlete on the now-defunct men's swim team from 1970-73. Lemley was the head coach for the men's and women's swim team for Alaska from 1982-87 and returned as the head coach for just the women's team in January of 2005.

Nanooks Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for Fall Semester
On Tuesday, the Alaska Nanooks swim team were honored for their academic excellence during the 2018 fall semester by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), who named the Nooks a Division II Scholar All-America Team. Alaska combined for a team cumulative gpa of 3.30 for the fall term, ranking 54th out of all the DII women's programs.
