FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks have teamed up with Lavelle's Taphouse to host a scholarship fundraiser this Saturday, Apr. 21 from 12pm-6pm AKT. The event will take place at the Taphouse, which is located at 414 2nd Ave in downtown Fairbanks.
One dollar for every drink sold (including beer, wine, cider or non-alcoholic beverages) from 12-6pm will be donated to the Alaska Nanooks All-Sports Scholarship Fund. The event has free admission, is open to the public and is kid-friendly.
Student-athletes from hockey, men's basketball, rifle, volleyball and women's basketball will be on hand to assist with giveaways and the 50/50 raffle. At the top of every hour, we will be giving away goodies and one season ticket package for the upcoming 2018-19 hockey, men's and women's basketball and volleyball seasons.
Furthermore, there will be two 50/50 raffles with one drawing being held at 3pm and the other at 6pm. Winners must be present to win and up to five numbers will be drawn before the pot is donated to the scholarship fund.
The El Sabor food truck will be serving Mexican food outside throughout the entire event.
Parking on the street in downtown Fairbanks is free on the weekends and the parking garage (located directly across the street from the Taphouse) is $1.00 per hour, with a maximum of $10.00 per day. If a patron is parked less than 30 minutes, there is no charge.
