FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks swim team is back at the Patty Center Pool this weekend, taking on the Concordia-Irvine Eagles in a two-day Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference (PCSC) meet this Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12.

Last Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks swim team recorded their first win and sweep of the 2016-17 season against Azusa Pacific in two PCSC meets Oct. 28-29 at the Patty Center Pool. The Nooks defeated the Cougars 123-82 on Friday before placing first in all 11 events on Saturday to win 124-81.
Heaton Named CollegeSwimming.com's PCSC Female Swimmer of the Week (Oct. 31)
After sweeping the Azusa Pacific Cougars two weeks ago (Oct. 28-29), CollegeSwimming.com named sophomore distance swimmer
Cassidy Heaton the Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference's Female Swimmer of the Week for Oct. 31 – Nov. 6. Heaton is the Nanooks' highest-ranked swimmer in NCAA DII after posting a 1,650-yard freestyle time of 17:37.85, ranking her eigth in the country. On an already-successful weekend for the Nooks, Heaton also placed first overall in the 1,000-yrd freestyle (10:27.87) and the 500-yrd freestyle (5:13.33).
Alaska Receiving Votes in the CSCAA Top-25 Poll
On Oct. 27, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America/TYR released the NCAA DII Top-25 Swimming and Diving Poll. Rankings are compiled by CSCAA-member coaches and released on a monthly basis. The Alaska Nanooks didn't quite crack the top-25 in the DII section but received 20 votes to rank 27th. The next poll will be released on Nov. 16.
Senior Day
This weekend's meets against the Concordia-Irvine Eagles will be the final home appearance at the Patty Center Pool for the Alaska Nanooks for the remainder of the 2016-17 season. Prior to Saturday's meet, the Nanooks will be honoring three swimmers in seniors
Nga Nguyen and
Victoria Adams and also junior
Noelle Graham, who has the option to graduate early.
