Martha Hood Hits Personal Best at Day Three of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Martha Hood set a personal best time of 57.0 seconds in the 100 yard backstroke and was the highest Nanook finisher on day three of the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium, Friday morning.

Results

Despite a decent day in the pool, no Nanooks qualified for the finals on day three, as Hood's finish put her in 28th-place overall and less than a second out of the top-16. Victoria Adams and Margot Adams went back-to-back to finish 31st and 32nd overall in the 100 backstroke with respective times of 57.10 and 57.23.

In the 100 breaststroke, Nga Nguyen finished 30th overall with a time of 1:06.66.

Tomorrow, in the final day of competition, the 14th-ranked 400 freestyle relay team of M. Adams, Hood, V. Adams and Katie Stark will be looking for All-America honors while Alaska will also have M. Adams, Stark and Hood swimming in the 100 freestyle earlier in the day.
