FAIRBANKS – Despite 14 points from both Arinesha Smith and Kaille Skjold, the Alaska Nanooks were defeated 88-75 by Augustana College on Friday evening in Alaska's second game of the Mt. McKinley Bank North Star Invitational.

In addition to 14 points (hitting all seven of her free-throws), Smith had a team-high seven assists, six rebounds and a pair of steals. Skjold grabbed a team-high 10 boards and also had two blocks.

Augustana forced the Nanooks into 23 turnovers and had 16 steals, leading to 27 points. Shaunteva Ashley led the Vikings with 25 poiints and four assists. Sophie Kenney also had a big game offensively, ash she had 20 points. 

Three players scored nine points for the Nanooks, as Kelly Logue, Jordan Wilson and Victoria Milton all contributed a nine-spot, offensively. 

The Vikings will now take on Saginaw Valley State tomorrow, at 2:00 p.m. Both teams sit at 2-0 in the tournament and the game will serve as the championship. The Nanooks will take on Colorado Christian University, in what amounts to the third-fourth placed game.
