FAIRBANKS – No. 2 Alaska completed the weekend sweep of top-ranked Kentucky as it put together the second-highest score in program history with a narrow 4695-4689 victory on Sunday at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range.

The Nanooks (6-0) tallied a 2325 in smallbore and a 2370 in air rifle while the Wildcats (5-2) had scores of 2322 in smallbore and 2367 in air gun.

Sophomore
Tim Sherry (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mechanical Engineering) led the 'Nooks in both disciplines as he fired an NCAA second-best 590 in smallbore and matched his season high in air rifle with a 595.

Juniors
Ryan Anderson (Great Falls, Va./Biological Sciences) and
Mats Eriksson (Malung, Sweden/Business Administration) matched one another in both competitions as the duo turned in a pair of 580's in smallbore and 593's in air gun.

Senior
Mike Liuzza (New Orleans, La./Business Administration) rounded out the team's score with a 575 in smallbore and 589 in air rifle. Also competing for score on the day were freshman
Dan Geer (Colorado Springs, Colo./Business Administration) and sophomore
Lorelie Stanfield (Fairbanks, Alaska/English). Geer shot a 576 in smallbore while Stanfield had a 570 in air gun.

Emily Holsopple led UK with a 586 in smallbore and
Connor Davis tied Sherry in air rifle with a 595.
Heather Kirby was second for Kentucky in both disciplines with a 580 in smallbore and 593 in air gun.

The Nanooks will be in action next on Jan. 9, 2014, when they travel to Colorado to take on the United States Air Force Academy.
