In the preliminaries, she hit the wall in 23.62 seconds, good for fifth, and improved in the finals, finishing in fourth place with a time of 23.59.

Freshman Danielle Lyons (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan/St. Mary's) qualified for finals in two events, while sophomore Ashley Crowe (Billings, Mont.) and freshman Margot Adams (Anchorage, Alaska/Frontier Charter) each qualified in one event.

Lyons took 20th in the 50 free with a B-cut time of 24.31 in the preliminaries and finished 21st in the final with the same time. In the 200 individual medley, she qualified 32nd with a time of 2:10.33 and improved both place and time in the final, finishing 25th in 2:07.67.

Crowe turned in a personal-best and B-cut time in the 500 free preliminary with a time of 5:08.95, good for 21st, and later took the same place with a slightly improved mark of 5:08.71. Adams was 37th in the qualifying stages of the 50 free as she hit the wall in 24.78, and in the evening session, she won the Heat 'E' final in 24.34 to place 33rd.

A pair of Nanooks relays also finished in the top 10 as the 200 free relay was sixth and the 400 medley relay was eighth.

The team of Heller, Adams, Lyons and freshman Gabi Summers (Cheyenne, Wyo./Central) finished the free relay with a NCAA B-cut standard time of 1:36.88. That mark broke the previous varsity record by over one second. Adams, freshman Genevieve Johnson (Fresno, Calif./University), Heller and Lyons completed the medley in 3:55.10.
