It was a tough day for the Alaska Nanook skiers in the second and final day of racing at the 2010 NCAA Championships. Altitude, a hard course, and a long race all contributed to less than average performances for the Blue and Golds four racers Saturday morning.
. "I am very proud of our team. Each skier prepared well and gave it his/her best. It just wasn't our day."
As a team the Nanooks finished 15th overall (including alpine) and 11th among the Nordic teams. The University of Denver won the national title, while the host Colorado Buffaloes finished runners-up.
While the collegiate races are done for the season, the Jerome and Nanook assistant coach Matt Dunlap will take a small group of skiers who did not qualify for NCAAs to the Canadian Nationals next week in Whitehorse, Canada.
