Pavlovskaya Earns Second Honor at NCAA Championships

CANTON, OH - Junior Mariya Pavlovskaya (Korolev City, Russia) earned her second Honorable Mention All-American honor in as many days in day two of the NCAA Division II National Championships in Canton, Ohio Thursday night.

Pavlovskaya finished with the 10th best time in the prelims with a time of 4:29.08 to earn a spot in the consolation final in the 400-yard IM. She swam over three seconds faster in the finals and finished ninth overall to earn a Honorable Mention All-American honor. Her time of 4:26.04 is a personal best for Pavlovskaya this season.

Pavlovskaya also finished 11th yesterday in the 200-yard IM for her first Honorable Mention All-American award.

Senior Felina Rosadiuk (Fairbanks, AK) swam a time of 1:55.81 in the 200-yard Freestyle, good for 34th out of 46 swimmers, missing the finals cut by only two seconds.

The Nanooks will return to the pool tomorrow for day three of the championships. Pavlovskaya will participate in the 100-yard backstroke, the only event an Alaska swimmer will participate in.

In order to qualify as an All-American a swimmer must finish in the top eight of an event, with spots nine through 16 earning Honorable Mention All-American accolades.
