COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Alaska Nanooks rifle team got back to its winning ways with a victory at Air Force Thursday afternoon, outshooting the host Falcons 4,653-4,616. Alaska out-muscled their hosts 2,353-2,328 in air rifle and 2,300-2,288 in smallbore.
The Blue and Gold were led in air rifle by
Anna Hjelmevoll's match-high 591, while
Cole Bures small bore score of 582 was tops on the day.
Alaska's air gun team was rounded out by
Cody Rutter (590),
Dustin Chesebro (588),
Ryan Dunham-Bender (584) and Bures (580).
In the small bore, the Nanooks got a 579 from Rutter, a 571 from Hjelmevoll, a 568 from Dunham-Bender and a 567 from Chesebro.
Alaska continues its season in Colorado Springs with the Winter Air Gun Championships Dec. 3-5, being held at the Olympic Training Center.
