Mariya Pavlovskaya was the only Alaska swimmer to win Saturday, but she did it in a pair of events and did it in style. Not only did she break the 400 IM pool record with a 4:36.05, but she also set the mark as the fastest NCAA Division II swimmer in the nation in the event.
Pavlovskaya also went on to capture a win in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:09.26) by less than a second.
Meghan O'Leary took second in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:02.83)—her best time this season. She finished less than a second behind the winner.
All in all, I was very pleased with our swims. We're tired due to the kind of training we're doing and we're still swimming fast.
The meet was the final home meet this season. Alaska will compete at the Husky Invitational Dec. 3-5.
