May 7, 2009

Fairbanks, AK - Alaska Nanooks women's basketball head coach Darryl Smith announced the signing of Britney Anderson of Eielson AK, a four-year starter for the Ben Eielson High School Ravens, to a National Letter of Intent.

At 5-foot-6, Anderson was a do-everything point guard for Ravens' head coach Tara DeVaughn. Her senior season she averaged 13.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 2.7 assists.

"Britney is well-rounded athlete with solid basketball skills," Smith said. "We think she has the intangibles you need to be an excellent point guard this level."

Anderson led Eielson to the 2007-08 Aurora Conference championship as the Ravens posted a 22-6 record. She was named the conference Player of the Year her junior and senior seasons, and was the teams MVP her senior season. She has compiled over 1,200 points in her prep career.

She joins Lakeshia Levi (Warner Robins, GA) on list the of other recruits who have already signed in the recruiting class of 2010.
