Ellensburg, WA - Guard Sheena Brown scored 32 points against Central Washington on Saturday night in the final road game of her career, but the Nanooks lost a heart breaker to the Wildcats 63-58.
Brown was 8-22 FG but made 12-14 FT. In two games against CWU this season she has accumulated 76 points. Brown scored a school record 44 points against the Wildcats on Feb. 12th in Fairbanks in an 89-85 overtime loss.
Running mate and the GNAC leader in rebounds, Ronisha Edwards, pitched in with 12 points and a team high 13 rebounds. Brown and Edwards, along with Caitlin Hamsley and Alex Wood all played 40 minutes. Hamsley had nine points and two rebounds, while Wood had two points and a season high nine rebounds.
Alaska trailed 49-35 mid way through the second half, and closed the game on a 23-14 run, but it would be too little too late as they remain winless in conference play.
The Nanooks (5-19, 0-15 GNAC) finish their season at the Patty Center on March 5 for senior night. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
