Nanook Shooters, Alumni Continue To Earn High Marks

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Junior Patrik Sartz was the top visitor with a 596 to lead the Alaska Nanook men on the second day of the 3xAir competition, while sophomore Cody Rutter turned in another strong showing finishing third amongst the junior shooters, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center Saturday.

Rutter shot the second highest total in the final, but when combined with his preliminary 583, he finished in third overall amongst the junior shooters and with a 685.2. Sartz's team-high mark was followed by Rutter, Layne Lewis (584), William Galligan (581), and Jace Bures (579)

Two former Nanook shooters rounded out the top three spots overall in the men's match as Matt Rawlings (2002-2006) finished first overall with a 697 and Matt Wallace took the third spot with a 691.7.

On the women's side Taylor Beard led the way for the Blue and Gold shooting a 388 in the prelims and a 96.8 in the finals for day total of 484.8 good for 14th place overall. Ida Petersen finished 23rd with a 386 and Amy Steiner was 57th with a 369.

Alaska alumnae and 2008 Olympian Jamie Beyerle came in third overall with a 497.7.
