DULUTH, MN - Marius Korthauer continued to gather momentum heading into the Telemark SuperTour this weekend, staging a rousing comeback to snatch the top spot in the SuperTour Sprints in Duluth,Minn. In fourth place out of four skiers in the final heat with just 400 meters remaining, Korthauer switched on the afterburners to storm to a 1.3 second victory over former Nanook Bart Dengel.
Sister Aurelia Korthauer also made it into the women's A Final, taking fourth place overall on the women's side.
Andy Schnitzer finished third in the men's B final, taking seventh place overall at the event, while Krynn Finstad took eighth for the women.
In other Nanook skiing news, Vahur Teppan placed 19th in the classic sprint at the World Cup races at Canmore Nordic Center in Alberta. Teppan, skiing for his native Estonia, placed 29th in the qualifying heat to snatch a spot in the quarterfinals, where he finished fourth behind Russia's Nikita Kriukov and Finland's Kalle Lassila.
