FAIRBANKS, AK - The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics launched a new section on its current website, www.alaskananooks.com, specifically catered to reach out to its athletics alumni.
The Department of Athletics is updating its database of former Nanook student-athletes and has added a new section to its current website, to enable an efficient and effective process. Director of Athletics Forrest Karr is hoping to compile as complete a list as possible and is asking all former Nanooks to visit the website to provide their most current contact information to help the department improve connections with its alumni.
"At the NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) Convention, I was approached by former Nanook basketball player Julie Hall," Karr said. "Julie is the Assistant Athletics Director for Development at the University of California Riverside, but has never been contacted by the Department of Athletics since leaving Fairbanks. We plan on using this tool to communicate better with former student-athletes on a variety of future projects."
By providing the information requested the department will be able to contact all athletics alumni and keep them informed of various activities hosted by the department throughout the year, sponsorship and donation opportunities, game promotions, sporting events and all of the most up to date athletics related news.
The new athletics alumni page is a live link on the left hand menu of the athletics home page, may also be seen by clicking HERE.
