FAIRBANKS, AK -After sixteen years of involvement in the Nanook basketball program, head coach Frank Ostanik is resigning. The third-year head coach made the announcement today.
"After a meeting at which a number of ongoing issues were discussed, Coach Ostanik decided to resign from University employment," said Director of Athletics, Forrest Karr. "We respect his decision to put to rest the issues that have surrounded the men's basketball program."
"We thank him for his many positive contributions and accomplishments, we enjoyed working with him and we wish him well," Karr said.
The search process to find a replacement for Ostanik will begin immediately.
