FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 2007 NCAA Champion Alaska Nanooks rifle team had four student-athletes named to the Great Northwest Athletic Association's At-Large Academic Team Wednesday.

Senior All-American Matthias Dierolf (Uttenhofen, Germany/Business Administration, 3.93) was one of two top scholars on the At-Large Academic Team with a grade point average of 3.93, sharing the honor with rower Audrey Coon of Western Washington.

Dierolf was joined on the At-Large Team by his three classmates, seniors Kim Harris (Fairbanks, Alaska/Education, 3.84), and All-Americans Christian Lejon (Umea, Sweden/Engineering & Physics, 3.80) and Matt Rawlings (Wharton, TX/Technology, 3.58).

Overall there were 31 student-athletes from GNAC member institutions who were rostered on the 2007 academic at-large team. Athletes eligible for the at-large team are those that compete in sports at GNAC institutions that are either independent (not an officially sponsored conference sport) or compete in another conference which does not officially select an academic all-conference team.

To be eligible for the academic team, student-athletes must be a letter-winner, have a minimum GPA of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
