Anchorage, AK - The Alaska Nanooks dropped a tough road game 78-69 to in-state rival the University of Alaska Anchorage in front of a sell-out crowd at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex Wednesday night. The Nanooks (15-9 overall, 6-4 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) stayed close the entire contest but never led against the Seawolves (15-6, 6-4).
Senior Jushay Rockett (Long Beach, CA) led all scorers with 24 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds for Alaska. Juniors Mike Titus (Fairbanks, AK) and Kenny Barker (San Digo, CA) added 16 and 14, respectively.
UAA was led by Carl Arts with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
The Nanooks now get seven days rest before returning to action in Fairbanks against Western Washington and Seattle University Feb. 15 and 17. Check AlaskaNanooks.com for game times.
