Heather King Named New Assistant Coach For Women's Swimming

Sept. 16, 2006

FAIRBANKS, AK - The Alaska Nanooks swimming program completed its coaching staff for the 2006-0 season with addition of Fairbanks native Heather King.

King replaces former assistant coach Nicole Paskvan as head coach Scott Lemley's first assistant.

King joins the Nanooks after a two-year stint as the head coach at Lathrop High School, where she served as an assistant to Lemley in the previous four seasons, before Lemley resigned to take his position at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

In her time at Lathrop, King coached three of Alaska's current swimmers, high-school All-Americans Felina Rosadiuk and Zoe Kjera, and State Finalist Jamie Bratten.

King swam for California State University Fresno and then returned to Fairbanks in 2002 to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at the UAF.

The Nanook swim team will open its season with an intra-squad swim meet on October 7 at the Patty Center Pool. First race is 12 p.m. AST.
