Seattle, WA - Facing the top team in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference on the road, the Alaska Nanooks dropped a match 30-26, 30-19, 30-25 to Seattle Pacific Oct. 26.

With the loss Alaska falls to 6-14 overall and 5-8 in the GNAC, while SPU improved to 22-2 and 14-0 in the conference. The Falcons won their 25th straight league match, 18th straight at home and 16th straight overall.

Freshman Jessica Hill (Colorado Springs, CO) had seven kills and four blocks to lead the Nanooks. Katrina Jensen and Sarah Lowry added six kills apiece. The Nanooks hit only .103 for the match and were doubled in total blocks (8 to 4) by the Falcons.

Senior Katrina Jensen (Federal Way, WA) and freshman Sarah Lowry (Calgary, AB) both finished with six kills apiece. Freshman setter Alexa Sherman (Calabasas, CA) dished 19 assists, while sophomore Miranda Trudeau (Eagle River, AK) topped the Nanooks with 10 digs.

Freshman outside hitter Megan Thigpen (Spokane, WA), who underwent minor surgery last Saturday, played sparsely in two games and finished with a season-low two kills. The performance snapped Thigpen's streak of double digit kills and digs at six games.

Shelby Gihring topped SPU in kills with 20 powered by a .457 hitting percentage. Jenna Von Moos dished 42 assists for a Falcon offense that hit .310 for the match.

The Nanooks continue their GNAC schedule Oct. 28, when they visit Ellensburg, WA to face Central Washington University at 6 p.m. AST.
