FAIRBANKS, AK - KFXF FOX 7 in Fairbanks announced today their 2006-07 college hockey television schedule. FOX 7's schedule will feature 15 games (10 road and five home) of the Alaska Nanooks hockey games this season. The schedule also includes a slate of 12 CCHA regular season and playoff games and the weekly program, the CCHA Weekly. The entire TV package is once again dubbed the Gene's Chrysler College Hockey Game of the Week.
"We look forward to another exciting year working alongside KFXF FOX 7," said Forrest Karr, University of Alaska Fairbanks Director of Athletics.
With the exception of selected home contests, most games will air live in Fairbanks. In an arrangement FOX 7 has with GCI Cable, most of the Alaska TV schedule will also air statewide on GCI's network community billboard channel. FOX 7 will simulcast it's Nanook TV games on it's sister radio station, 96.9 KYSC fm, the new flagship radio home for Nanook hockey.
FOX 7 has also secured regional and national exposure for the Alaska Nanooks this year as four contests will be televised nationally or regionally on either ESPN U or COMCAST Local out of the Detroit Metropolitan area. In addition, FOX 7 has secured commercial airtime for the university in the telecasts that will allow the University of Alaska Fairbanks to promote enrollment to millions of potential viewers.

Naturally, everyone then wanted more televised games and now we are in our third year of broadcasting a full slate of games.
