Freshmen Erin Skeuse (390 air) and Fairbanks' own Matt Wallace (1168 smallbore) stepped up with excellent scores to add to the team. Per Sandberg (1173, 388) and Karl Olsson (377 air) and Senior Captain Amber Darland (1161) of Delta Junction came back very strong after a difficult start and helped the team dominate in the kneeling position which made the difference for the Nanooks. "I'm very proud of how this team performed today. Once again, when faced with a tough challenge from two other top teams in the country, our Nanooks pulled together and set the standard. We had everything from top scores, comeback performances, and a great effort off our "bench" from freshmen Matt Wallace and Erin Skeuse. It was truly a team effort." "Our Nanooks worked very hard from day one last fall to integrate a promising group of freshmen into their veteran lineup. We had some strong challenges all year that pushed our guys to new levels of performance. Ultimately, the freshmen followed the example from their veterans and stood up today in a big way."
