FAIRBANKS – On Friday night, Alaska cemented home ice for the first round of the playoffs with its dominant 7-2 victory against rival Alaska Anchorage in game three of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup.

The Nanooks will be the No. 3 seed for the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs and will the host the No. 6 seed, which could be any of these four teams – Michigan Tech, UAA, Northern Michigan or Lake Superior State.

The final pairings will be determined following Alaska's regular-season finale against Anchorage tonight, which will complete the season schedule in the entire WCHA.

Alaska will host the best-of-three postseason series from March 13-15 at the Carlson Center. Due to the opening ceremonies of the Arctic Winter Games on Sunday, March 16, the Nanooks were forced to move up game one by a day to start Thursday in the event the series should play all three games. The puck will drop at 7:07 p.m. each night.

For season ticket holders who have already reserved their playoff tickets, they will be able to pick up their tickets beginning on Tuesday in the main lobby of the Patty Center. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Tuesday as well.

In preparation for the playoffs and printing of the tickets, the Patty Center box office will be closed on Monday.
