UAF Department of Athletics to Hold NCAA Northeast Regional Viewing Party at Patty Center

FAIRBANKS, AK - The NCAA Northeast Regional Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's semi-final game, featuring the Alaska Nanooks and the Boston College Eagles will take place Saturday, March 27 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time in Worchester, Mass. The UAF Department of Athletics will host a viewing party that will feature the live webstream of the game in the Patty Center gymnasium starting at 9 a.m. Alaska Time.

The fourth-seeded Nanooks will take on the top-seeded Eagles in their first ever NCAA Division I hockey tournament game. The game is being video streamed live on ESPN360.com (which is not currently offered by all local internet service providers) beginning at 9:30 a.m. Alaska Time and tape delayed on ESPNU on Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. AKT. The game will be projected onto one of the bare gym walls (approximately 28' feet wide) with the audio synchronized on the house stereo system.

Additional projection screens will be used to display live stats and a live interactive rink-side blog from the DCU Center throughout the game.

The viewing party is open to anyone who would like to attend and refreshments will be available for sale in the Patty Center lobby. The same event will take place on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ADT, should Alaska advance to the championship game.
