Over the next six months, beginning in mid-March, construction will be going on at the Carlson Center as the Alaska Nanooks hockey team will be getting a new behind-the-scenes look with brand-new locker room as well as new offices, training room, meeting rooms, etc.
Right here at alaskananooks.com, we will be providing updates throughout the construction period to keep the Nanook Nation informed on the progress so everyone will be able to see all the phases of the construction process.
In certain areas, you will notice vast differences while other areas will slowly but surely come along until its completion in September.

Most recently, dry wall has gone up in each room of the Carlson Center construction and in the latest photo gallery (July 15), you will notice certain areas have been painted. Next up, the ceilings should be going in over the next few weeks. Plumbing has also started taking place and the framework is complete on each section as well.
In addition to coaching staff, other staff have been able to see the construction unfold as well as former player and coach, Tavis MacMillan, who visited the Carlson on May 3. Former team personnel have also had the priviledge to see how the construction is going as well.

The State of Alaska appropriated four million dollars to fund the construction of the entire project that will not just benefit the Nanooks but the community as it will add more locker space for area teams that would be practicing and competing at the Carlson Center. While the state provided money to construct this project, the team is responsible for completing the process by furnishing the team's area at the arena.
So, the hockey team and Face Off Club have begun an initiative for the renovation process with a goal of raising $100,000 each to offset the estimated costs of furnishing of the locker room and other team space at the Carlson Center.
If you would like to be a part of this campaign visit THIS LINK to give to the Nanooks hockey team. You can also help by mailing in the PRINTABLE FORM, by phone at (907) 474-5204 or you can even walk-in to the Patty Center if you need more information. Corporations can benefit from the Alaska Education Tax Credit.

We will keep you updated as much as we can with this project, including new photos and the amount raised towards the Alaska Nanooks' new locker room facility.
