3.13.10 | Men's and Women's Rifle
A sub-par performance in air rifle, coupled with a dominating performance by the host Texas Christian University, doused the Alaska Nanooks rifle team's bid for an 11th NCAA championship title. The Horned Frogs defeated the Blue and Gold 4,675-4,653, erasing a six-point deficit coming into the day, and giving the Nanooks a silver finish for the fifth time in program history.

3.12.10 | Men's and Women's Rifle
The Alaska Nanooks rifle team got off to a great start at the 2010 NCAA Men's and Women's Rifle Championships Friday, winning the team smallbore competition with an aggregate score of 2,320: good for a six-point advantage over their hosts, the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs (2314) and a 12-point cushion over the defending NCAA Rifle Champions, the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

The Alaska Nanooks rifle team turned in another solid performance on the second day of their NCAA Qualifiers, handily topping the visiting University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers 2,355-2,193 in Sunday's air rifle competition at the Patty Center Gymnasium.

2.13.10 | Men's and Women's Rifle
The 10-time NCAA Champion Alaska Nanook rifle team got off to a solid start on the first day of their NCAA qualifiers, posting an aggregate team score of 2322. Seniors Patrik Sartz (Stora Sundby, Sweden) and Jace Bures (Odell, NE) tied junior Cody Rutter (Palmyra, PA) for the match-high score, notching 581 apiece. Rounding out the starting team was senior William Galligan (Eagle River, AK), who was just two points shy of his teammates with a 579.

2.12.10 | Men's and Women's Rifle
The No. 2 Alaska Nanooks rifle team hosts the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13-14 for a pair of NCAA Qualifying matches at the Patty Center. Events on both days begin at 8 a.m. with Saturday's small bore relays begin shot downstairs in the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and Sunday's air rifle relays and finals taking place upstairs in the Patty Center's main gymnasium. Sunday's fan friendly event features a 10 shot air rifle final beginning at 2 p.m. AKT. There is no admission fee for either of the matches.
