The No. 3 Alaska Nanooks shot the highest rifle score in the nation this season en route to a 4660-4600 win over the United States Air Force Academy Falcons Friday at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range. Freshman Dustin Chesebro (Laramie, WY) led the Blue and Gold with a 597 out of 600 in air rifle while junior Cody Rutter (Palmyra, PA) posted a team-high 588 in the smallbore discipline.

After two days of shooting the Alaska Nanooks rifle team closed out their first road trip of the season in winning fashion to complete a three-match sweep, topping the Nevada Wolf Pack 4,666-4,610. The Nanooks shot for their best team score shot since a victory against the University of Texas-El Paso in January of 2008.
