Hockey's Comeback Bid Falls Short At NMU

A three-goal first period for the Northern Michigan Wildcats proved too great a debt for the Alaska Nanooks to overcome, as they fell 3-2 at the Berry Events Center Saturday night in Central Collegiate Hockey Association action. One bright spot of the evening for the Blue and Gold was that senior Dion Knelsen (Three Hills, AB, Drumheller (AJHL)) became the 28th skater in program history to eclipse the 100-point career mark with his 14 goal of the season.

Nanooks, Wildcats Skate To Third Consecutive Tie

For the third time in as many encounters this season the Alaska Nanooks and the Northern Michigan Wildcats ended their Central Collegiate Hockey Association contest with a tie and a deciding shootout. Alaska picked up one point with a 2-2 overtime tie against the 'Cats, but was unable to secure the extra point and fell 2-0 in the shootout Friday night at the Berry Events Center.

Nanooks Head To Marquette For CCHA Series At NMU

The Blue and Gold head to Michigan's Upper Peninsula this weekend to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats in a pair of Central Collegiate Hockey Association games at the Berry Events Center. The games, which are slated for 3:35 p.m. start time in Alaska, will both be shown live locally on KFXF Fox 7 in Fairbanks as well as GCI Cable statewide.
