Alaska Nanook cross country student-athletes Einar Often (Tynset, Norway, University of Life Science (UMB), Norway) and Theresia Schnurr (Buhlertal, Germany) have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men’s and women’s track and field/cross country teams, respectively.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics will host the 26th Annual IBEW Nanook Fund Golf Scramble on June 11 at the North Star Golf Club. IBEW is in its seventh year as the title sponsor for the tournament, which is the major fund-raising event for student-athlete scholarships. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Alaska Nanooks.

11.12.09 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
Ten men and women representing the Alaska Nanook cross country teams were named to the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team announced Thursday. A conference-best seven Nanooks were named to the men’s team, while three women made the cut for the women’s team.

In their final showing of the 2009 campaign, the Alaska Nanook men's and women's cross country teams gave valiant efforts at the NCAA Division II West Region Cross Country Championships Saturday at Golden Gate Park. The women finished 16th overall out of 25 teams competing, while the men placed 19th out of 20.
